Fishing on Papa's Boat

Yesterday, we took Papa's boat up to Steinaker fishing. We didn't catch very many fish, but the kids had a blast jumping in the lake. It was fun to go and remember when Papa would take us fishing.

Our trip to the Zoo

Last weekend we took the kids out to the Hogle Zoo. We go every year in the summer. Drinking out of the lions mouth is a tradition that started when I was little, so every year we get a picture of the kids getting a drink! They had alot of fun, and loved seeing all of the animals. Ali's favorite was the monkeys, and Ashton loved the big tiger!

Our Family Camping Trip

We took the kids and went camping last week, at Iron Springs. It was so much fun! We took them fishing in a little stream, and Morgan caught a brookie for each of them. We weren't going to keep them because they were so small, but Ali's swallowed the hook and then Ashton threw a fit because he wanted one too. Morgan taught them how to gut their fish , and then we cooked them for dinner. Ashton surprisingly loved it, and ended up eating them both!

Eight years ago Morgan and I camped at this same spot and he carved our initials into a tree, so he decided to carve our kid's initials underneath ours. We had a great time, and the kid's loved playing in the stream, playing in their "playhouse" that they made out of a pine tree, and sitting around the campfire.
